ING DIRECT / Capital One 360 is offering a $50 bonus when you open an Electric Orange Checking Account and make a total of 3 Card purchases or Person2Person Payments (or any combo of the two) within 45 days of account opening. No monthly fees or ATM surcharge. Not nearly as appealing as the $125 bonus during Black Friday, but you won't see that again for another year.
AVOID Capital 1 - They SUCK !
Truly, avoid ING/Capitol One. These @ssholes did a HARD PULL on my credit just to open a simple checking account, absolutely no warning they would do that. Never had that done in my life for a checking account. Then the weasels gave me some runaround about them doing hard pulls because every checking account has a mandatory overdraft protection - even if you don't want it they will create one and give you a "$0.00" credit line. 35 years of banking and I've never run into a company that would so callously f@ck up your credit for no reason, and they will do this to you too if you go for this simple checking account. You're warned.
