    I agree that these work well for small areas without making a mess but I saw them on sale for $0.70 each at Home Depot recently.

    If only WD40 was a lubricant. It's not... penetrant and water displacer only, use plain old motor oil for a better result unless they added more ingredients to bring this up to snuff.

    Granted, it'll still be good for the other virtue of being a petroleum solvent that can remove sticker adhesive, dissolve ink stains, etc.

    It depends on the job. Water based lube has its uses but petroleum and silicon based lubes tend to survive greater wear.

    Yes, low odor. That way when I use it to lube up my moms leather cheerio, my hog won't smell like lube.

    Yeah, for $6 you can get a whole can - not much of a deal. Unless you're fumbling around in the dark for this. In which case a spray can might fail you if you spray paint or deodorant on yourself instead of lube. That'd be embarrassing.
