I bought several AA and AAA batteries about 2 years ago for about $85 total to use in electronics, toys, household stuff and remote computer and TV devices.
I see now it was just wasting money. The best use for such batteries is heavy photo shooting or other intensive work when you have change batteries weekly or so. Otherwise, their potential of 1,500 or more cycles is not used.
Also they have only 1.25 volt top instead of standard 1.5 v and you will get messages that batteries are low soon.
From my point of view, It is better to buy standard non-rechargeable batteries like 15 cents for each and you do need to buy a special charger.

#2, go stand in the corner for not being a Green Environmentalist Fanboy. Haven't you realized that Ben hates disposable batteries and toilet paper yet? That's why his regularly pushes bung holes washers and rechargeable batteries...

Thats why I only use rechargeable batteries in my bung hole washer zzyzx. That and so I don't smell up the Prius.

Amazon often changes the price of sale item in the same day. Ben has been featuring a lot of one minutes Amazon deals lately. You are probably just not catching the lower price within the small window of time to get it for the sale price. But Amazon are getting what they want you to do, consider buying the item even at a higher price...
