I wonder if they're coated with plastic on top. If they're gold at the surface, they'll have permanent stains after just one use. Sweat is acidic and will leave ugly marks on them, just like on gold plated plates.

I believe everything retailers tell me. They'd get into big trouble if they lied...

Last and only order from 13 Deals was for crap backpack wherein they charged me immediately then after two weeks and a call to customer service( my dime) they sent an email saying it was back ordered. Then the rep said she personally went to shipping to get it sent. And one week later it magically appeared in my mailbox after a mere 21 days. Kudos to the rep but thumbs down to the company. You've been warned!

These would be fun for a non-poker game (gold or no-gold) as they might add a bit of class. I can just see these + high balls + crazy eights with the most interesting man in the world. However, there is something about a classic nice deck of cards for poker that would make me steer clear. Though for $6 and change, it's not a whole lot more than a deck of cards will cost you at our local grocers. Maybe it's $5 for 2 - can't remember.

Compared to the price of normal plastic-coated decks (that wear very quickly,) this deck is well worth it. I bought one about a year ago and I had no problems. I ordered from 13 Deals/Jammin Butter with no issues, however, at the time of purchase a lot of people were complaining about missing cards in their decks. Mine had all 52. They don't look like they are gold plated, it's merely a gold gloss on them, however, they wear less easily than normal plastic decks. I would suggest these to anyone who can't afford good, plastic decks: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Copag-1546-Orange-Brown-100-Plastic-Playing-Cards-Poker-Jumbo-Index-New-/121151773459?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c35355b13

Actually China is where it's at for gold because we keep dumping our old electronics with gold plated contacts there.

If you can gold plate the contacts on a free after rebate network adapter on the cheap then it shouldn't be a problem to gold plate these so thin that you can even see through the plating.
