Loneliest food in the world? Unlike a lot of other people, Maruchan Ramen saw me through a lot of hard times. It was like an old friend, who would never let you down. Reliability, that what comes to mind. Although times are fat, we still get together for a bowl or two. Maruchan Ramen? Yup, its always there for you.

Wow. I would have to be down to my last $3.52, pantry & fridge empty ... well, maybe not even then.

I remember when you could get this for around 8 - 10 cents a package. Now I sound like my father

I remember a summer in college when I lived off of Ramen noodles, Banquet TV dinners and fast food. I almost died that summer.

I see it as soup starter, not a complete course. Toss in some meat and veggies, spices, maybe a tablespoon of tomato sauce. By the time it's made there's higher volume for lower sodium density, and depending on what you add it's more nourishing than canned soup at lower cost. Of course you can do that with regular rice or noodles instead of Ramen...

Ben made a point: the more you eat this, the higher a possibility you become lonely. Who wants to friend someone who can barely afford anything else than instant noodle?
