Seems cast iron should be induction heating compatible. Is this induction compatible?

I am sure this is made-in-China ones. I would spend little more for Logde Logic brand

Cast Iron = Ferrous = Induction Compatible.

Pay a little more, and get the Lodge Logic.

One Logde Logic is more expensive than the 3 of these.

I am thinking of getting a cast iron pan to serve as the expensive "induction disks" so that non-induction compatible pans can be used. But they say cast iron is poor heat conductor and thus not good to serve as one. Since don't want to plonk down $40-50 for one, guess Ijust suffer through with induction "heating circle" issue.

#7 I don't like the "heating circle" issue as well. It really makes high heat pan searing and frying a process of rotating items around the pan for even cooking. Have not tried any 220v or higher priced induction unit to determine if they also have the heating circle issue. I would think it would be possible to produce a product with multiple oscillating magnetic rings so induction heating would be even throughout the surface of the pan. Kind of like they do at CERN.

Really like my Lodge but hate to say, cast iron is cast iron unless of course the thickness is significantly different or the alloy may vary but cast iron cookware is usually simply cast iron which is only alloyed with carbon and silicon.

#7 Instead of an induction disk, try a trivet instead. Can use one for more even heating when cooking sauces to avoid the "heating circle" issue which may lead to scorching.

Amazon has the Lodge for $10:

#10, I tried the very trivet and it was a disaster. It did not get hot evenly, but very localized in one spot as far as I could tell. The local spot got red hot without heating the pot on top and scorched the cooking top surface. Then there was a loud crack in the red hot area and I could see a crack in the trivet. Tossed it in the sink fast. (Maybe my imagination, but the induction heater seems to operate a little differently since then.)
