This will drag out the SALT POLICE again - Every one is getting really tired of that. Let people eat what they want to eat. Plus, it's job security for me. I work in the medical field and invest in pharmaceuticals. Ka-Ching!
Another approved food product for those practicing the Ben's Bargains fattie lifestyle diet...
Hardly, a whole 2 serving bowl is only 380 calories, before you add some meat and veggies to make it interesting.
That is a whopping 1720mg sodium, but if the flavor packet is separate, you wouldn't have to add the whole thing.
There's a lot of sodium in the ramen itself, too. I can't quantify how much but definitely a lot. I have to give up on instant ramen now as I have HBP. But yeah, when I was young, these are great stuff. :P
^ That you can have too many noodles. Caloric, and other nutrient RDA for a healthy male divided by 3 meals, means I'd need something on the side like a sammich. Sodium level is just what you get used to. I switched to homemade low sodium hot sauce years ago and never looked back.
Now if they'd just stop injecting saline solution into chicken/etc...
I don't know if you people have actually tried this brand. This is a much better brand than the ones that you get on your grocery store (unless this one is it).
I love this stuff. I just don't try to eat them more than once every couple weeks.
Don't worry about the sodium. They use South Korean salt, not the dangerous North Korean variety.
Nongshim makes the very best-tasting instant ramen, but this isn't it. SHIN BLACK is Numbah One, and is even sold at where it's the most costly such product on the shelf.
Worth every penny, worth the salt. Chop up some veggies, add dried shrimp or fish, and it's wonderful. Some derivations use bouillon (beef, chicken, or veggie) to add even more salt to the mix, plus a foundation flavor that makes the overall result a gourmet experience.
^ Neither of which are as bad for you as some hand-wavers try to imply, unless you're allergic to them. Even most people who think they're allergic, turn out to not be when subjected to valid scientific testing.

Sometimes they put quantity limits on these things but this one is still working for me this morning :)
