Not sure if this makes sense when a real fireproof box can be in this price range. Wally world has them for $20+.
BTW, one piece of advice I once got that might make sense. Always leave the key inserted in your fireproof box. Most the the time, the contents of the box are of no import to anyone but yourself, but a burglar won't know that and will steal a locked box thinking it's where you keep diamond rings and such.
