Chase is offering 40,000 bonus points or $500 towards airfare after $3000 of qualifying purchases in the first 3 months as a new Chase Sapphire Preferred cardmember. The card also offers 2 points per dollar spent on travel and dining & 1 point per dollar spent on all other purchases. No annual fee the first year ($95 thereafter).

#1 if you pay your utilities along with all the other stuff it's no challenge to put a grand on it a month.. The key is to pay your credit card in full every month. If you can't do that then don't put it on it in the 1st place.
