This stuff is very-very menthol. It's also very different to use because it does not foam at all. If you have a heavy beard the way to use it is to first wash your face with soap and water to remove any oils and then smear the gel on and let it sit for a couple of minutes. It works well but it just needs an extra minute or two to soften a tough beard.
The non-methol is the same price but back ordered 2 weeks.
