Using the Windows Ate User Interface on a non-touch notebook. Now that's torture. This reminds how much a value the Ben's Best award...

Basic laptop, looks like no optical drive, I still use one for media uses. Seems like a good deal, but over the last few weeks there has been a few that were better in this price range. Still 250 for a working kinda out dated unit is not to bad.

Food for thought, spend 100 more and get a I3, larger HD, better brand. In the long run you will be happier.

I don't know why people hate windows 8?. It new, it different GUI, boot much faster than win 7 so I don't see the issues. Every OS Microsoft release always a bugs and that nothing news, win 8 will be here to stay for awhile and won't go away anytime soon. Since it was release to target tablet market not PC.

Win 8 is a great vision, but it ain't there yet. What's the point of having tiles which are nothing but glorified giant icons and then you have to go to the win-7 interface to do anything. At least with 8.1 the tiles are a little bit more useful and it's pointing a little towards where they hope to go with it.

My guess would be by 8.5 or ver 9 it will be a useful GUI for anything with a touchscreen.

Anyone else have their laptop arrive with a scratched screen? Acer refuses to replace mine since they call it "cosmetic damage" and wants to charge me to repair my new laptop.
