Apparently these mostly cause harm if you swallow more than one. If two of these in different pars of the bowel happen to attract each other, they will "dig a hole" through the bowel lining while pulling together. This causes a bowel perforation which, if not caught right away, could lead to a serious system-wide infection called sepsis. This is because all the sht in your gut start bathing your organs. Most people who go into hospitals and are septic, will go back out in a body bag. BTW, the same can happen if you're a little too enthusiastic with foreign objects at the other end.

I thought the cpsc stopped the sale of these as dangerous
