$95 Retail: $160
Good processor, used in build for my son paired with an HD 6850 and he plays games on it on a daily basis.
Was think of slapping this in my one's son machine as an upgrade from the Athlon II X4 640 tray part I picked-up at Micro Center for thought like $45, that has to be like almost 2 years now. His rig has no troubles running everything he's playing. Hardly worth the trouble of switching them, selling the 640 on C_List might get $30-35 if lucky, ultimately the only difference overall would be in my Edison Bill.

I upgraded from a Phenom 9600 to this processor. It was an excellent upgrade from that.
Yeah, main downside to this is you have almost no overclocking margin on the cheap motherboards that only support up to 120W-140W range.
3.3ghz 6 cores for $74 + free AV at Newegg last post doesn't make any sense.
^ but isn't that at Tiger Direct, has a large rebate, and requires unsubscribing later, or am I overlooking the 'egg deal you're referring to?
#6 No rebates but require a coupon code of $5.00 off from 90 bucks. It was run two month ago at TD for the Phenom II 6 core cpu @ 2.8ghz 125 watts with 5.00 off @ $85.00 dollars each in retail box. I could'nt forget because I bought six.
#2 Dont' remember MC was selling the Althon 640 for 45 bucks. I belive you. somehow it slip thur me.. I remember last year I bought the Phenom II X3 B73 2.8ghz @ 95watts OEM only at MC for 40bucks. Overclock it to 3.3ghz unlock it to 4 cores runs better than my Althon 640 because of the 6mb L3 cache.
#5 Don't remember seeing any deal 3.3ghz 6 core with free AVG for 74 bucks. Maybe in my dream because I would jump all over it. Maybe buy 100 or more..
This is a good deal @ 80 buck for the Phenom II 965. Such a shame, I just bought two Althon II 640 for 65.00 each @ NE wednesday the 24th using the coupon code. Sale end on 24th After I purchase it, then I saw this deal, I would be more happy to pay 15 buck more to get the Phenom II 965 instead. Too late now..Would have some fun trying to overclock it to 4.0ghz using a after market fan
