Why do they call bicycle toe?

^ I'm guessing it's because they have the twin seams down the front, reminiscent of the twin bars on the front of a bicycle pedal clip cage... at least that seems more appropriate than some of the other names shoes are given.

... although ironically enough that's the last style you'd want to wear actually riding a bike with toe clips because (despite the heel) you wouldn't want the stitching to be rubbing against the clip members and wearing away.

The Amazon pic nicely shows double-stitching of toe clip/pedal exactly like that on the top front of shoes. Thanks.

I wish the sizes on dress shoes weren't so inconsistent or I'd be in for a pair.

Could you elaborate on what you mean by 'inconsistent' sizes?

bbsam, unless I have tried the shoes on before I'm reluctant to buy shoes online. A half size off makes shoes uncomfortable. Badly fitting shoes will hurt.

The fit/size - the uncertainty as you call it - is precisely why I buy only from sellers with free return shipping, like Amazon, Nordstrom, Shoes(?), Zappos (too expensive), ShoeBuy(?), ...

I usually buy something also sold on Amazon that has reviews so I can see if anyone reported the sizing is off. Last shoes I bought from 6PM fit fine, but they weren't these or slip-on dress shoes with perfect sizing being a lot more important for slip-ons.

I ordered these shoes on Nov. 25, 2013 for size 7.5 and yesterday when I received delivery, I found them too big, at least US size equivalent to 5 This was my first and probably last experience to buy shoes online. Better to buy shoes online from only those stores which are also physically present like Sears, Kohls etc. where you can go and return/exchange incase the size is not right.
