New Release (retail price). Apple has announced a new, less expensive 9.7" iPad that replaces their old iPad Air line. It's a bit heavier, but it has a brighter display and their 1.85GHz A9 CPU.

Like most of their products, they'll come in silver, gold and space gray.

You can preorder them starting tomorrow. The 32GB version will be $329 and the 128GB will be $429. The LTE option will cost you around $130 more on each. These prices are about $70 less than their comparable iPad Air 2 model.

Oh, and they kept the headphone jack.

This is lesser to iPad2Air in every way - don't waste your time - get an iPad pro when on sale...better screen, better sound, better processor, more RAM, thinner and lighter and pen/keyboard support. This is really an ipad air with a slightly updated processor. It does not use the same screen as in Ipad Air 2. It uses an older design. Probably they had a bunch of parts laying around and said what the hell...

I think this is fine for anyone looking just to consume products (eg. youtube, netflix, news, rec). I would not spend more for kids.
