I got that 8000 memory bluetooth mouse by MS, and I hated how it required you to use MS's BT stack to customize the mouse, doesn't work on widcomm's, instead giving you only the basic features... stupid

this one prolly has the same problem

You mean this wouldn't work on a Mac? Very lame then.

Actually, just checked- the one I have is the 8000 "presenter mouse", a better version which includes presenter buttons on the bottom, a built-in laser pointer, and a PC side bluetooth usb receiver. I believe Bensie's here is the bare bones 8000.

I found it at that price on an ebay store. There are tons of ebay stores with Microwurst blue teeth, and I recall cullinb through about a dozen to find it. Will look and see if I can find it for you, but it has been several months.

As for the bluetooth stack, I am using it on a Lenovo x61s with XP and the Lenovo internal bluetooth card driver (not the USB dongle that came with it), but I had to "jiggle" using the Microworst mouse driver to get the bloody thing to associate. Otherwise it kept asking for a passcode and then wouldn't accept it. Once associated it "keeps" the association and work great.

I haven't tried to use this on a Mac.

Yeah check fleabay or thermaltake outlet. There's a weird retail markup for bt mice relative to cordless mice with proprietary dongles. People with with compatible laptops are willing to pay a premium, so they charge one.

I had this mouse for my dual boot MSI Wind U100. The ironic thing was that this Microsoft mouse worked fine for me under Hackint0sh OS X, but wouldn't recognize at all under Windows 7 official RC. I ended up returning it to MicroCenter (where I got it for $15) and getting a Logitech V470 for $22 off of Fleabay.

I bought a black and white version of this bluetooth mouse last Thursday from Amazon.com for $25 shipped. I received the mouse yesterday. The mouse was very easily to pair with my laptop initially and then whenever the laptop is turned on, it's ready to work. I have not experienced any dropping in connections at all. Overall the mouse works flawlessly.

I have been using Logitech V450 Nano. This bluetooth mouse is a little smaller than the V450 but feels comfortable nevertheless. The design of the battery compartment is not perfect, and it's too early for me to comment on the battery life using two Energizer Alkaline AAA (included in the package).

By the way, I am using a bluetooth dongle from DX. https://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.14673
