      Not a bad deal on a basic unit, no optical drive, does have 1 USB 3.0m and HDMI. Looks like the optical drive is fading away. How will I install some of my programs, they are on CD only, this is were having a external around can really help.

      You can use any optical drive that is on your network. I do this all the time as just set your unit with an O-Drive on the network to "share" that drive. It should pop up as a viewable drive in your network from any other computer on the network where you can launch installers.

      This laptop is not bad, I bought one a while back for $250. The Celeron in it is not as bad as the Celerons of the past.

      I rip my important optical discs to ISO files, store them on a fileserver and mount them with daemon tools. This way I have access even away from home.
