Might be, though $800 would also come close to a used Ninja 500, which has a little higher top speed.
And then convert that Ninja into electric

With electric bike make sure you check the weather prior leaving the house because there isn't a paddle like the real bicycle powered by you. LOL.
^ This bike has pedals. That (and a low top speed) allows it to be legally classified as a bike or moped, and it helps you go faster than the smallish 250W motor would otherwise allow.
I didn't see any speed listed but pedaling you could probably maintain about 20 MPH over long stretches and 25MPH or more for short ones and downhill unless there's a governor that restricts motor output to keep you under some particular speed.
Never tried out one of these, but it looks like fun.
1st, you must pedal for this thing to go; it's pedal assisted only. 2nd, max speed of the motor is 20mph. These are both legal things, otherwise, it's no longer a bike, but a scooter with registration and insurance requirements.
Like any bicycle, you need to worry about carrying stuff and locking it up, but now you have a $400 battery that can be stolen. Some cities are more friendly to bicycles than others.
Sorry folks but, according to the video, you have to be a metal robot guy to ride one of these...
