Not to be confused with generic canning. That requires a pressure canning capability that this does not provide. Also, it is not "recommended" for a glass top stove (I don't know why).
It is however okay for high acid items like tomatoes or fruits and jams.

On the up-side, the lid can double as a 15Qt pot.

As long as it's not used for canning requiring the jars be put under pressure, it doesn't matter.
