Actually the Total Trainer XL is better then the Total Gym endorsed by those celeb's. It's less expensive and can easily handle the 385LB max capacity. Very well made unit and easy to use. I can recommend it for larger individuals around above 300lb's as it feels solid while in use with fluid motion. I'd use this as a all-in-one starter gym to help you burn calories and firm up .
One of these helped me lose over 150lb's a few years ago. Use it daily and do a Juice cleanse for 30 days for solid real weight loss results. When your over 325 lb's I found it uncomfortable to go to meat markets gym's like LA Fitness but it depends on the person.
Hey snowcrash I'm not familiar with the Weider unit but the reviews are good at 4.5/5. For $150 it appears to be a good unit. The board padding looks a bit thinner then the Trainer XL but depending on your weight and exercises you perform it might not be an issue.
