Wow.. yup.. I got 'em for $200, well worth it. These are very accurate and detailed headphones, be prepared for that. Also, you *will* need at least a moderately powerful headphone-specific amp for these (the 600 ohm version). These will not sound good plugged directly into your phone or other standard MP3 player, nor your receiver with a headphone jack.

Yeah for good volume you definitely want a headamp or equivalent, something more than the 12V rail to rail swing possible from a computer output, let alone the 3.6V rail-rail on a single cell Li-Ion powered phone, mp3 player, etc. Headphone out jack on a standard rack stereo amp would work too but will tend to have a little lower soundstage than a proper headamp... meaning you also don't want a proper headamp that's powered by only a single Li-Ion cell, unless it has a boost circuit and then needs the noise from that filtered out.
