I'm a little shy of Biostar motherboards right now. The last 2 (different models) both had their sound die within 2 days. Fortunately I had some leftover Sound Blasters to put in.

Budget board, expect limitations with no SATA III or USB 3, so-so reviews.

Why would I want to control my motherboard from a smartphone?

^ It's a sign of the times. People want to play with their new toy phone, but to never leave the couch. It looks a bit kludged together but it might meet a particular set of needs, except that the motherboard does not seem to have bluetooth or wifi built in so I'm guessing "support" of Bio-remote 2 only means that it would work on any motherboard you added either bluetooth or wifi to, whichever it uses, but the only reason it would only work on certain motherboards is biostar prevents the software from working if it doesn't find the right hardware ID when it runs.

Anyway, I guess it's a feature that could be useful and obviously isn't adding to the cost with the board being only $40. Here's a mini-review -

I will never buy anything else but Asrock from now on. Bullet proof and a huge following. Over the years have had very mixed results from MB's like this. It's worth paying a few bucks more for something that I know will work.

I've been an AMD fan for years, but just got an i7 system and it ROCKS! AMD has a lot of catching up to do imho.
