There must be a lot of these that were refurbished. This sale had been going on for now what, 1 week?

Mine arrived yesterday (fast 3-day shipping!), appeared to be new over-stock with unused accessories in a generic Canon box. This is an excellent super-compact camera with a wide angle 24-120mm equivalent zoom lens.

I have never purchased refurbished electronics of any kind, until deciding to order this camera. It arrived yesterday, and I have to say that it appeared new in every respect - nothing to indicate that it was ever handled. So far, I am very happy with this small (really small) camera. Perfect camera for when you don't want to lug around a SLR or other larger variant of a digital camera.

Canon's website states that their refurbished cameras have a 1 year warranty, but a printed form in the box states a 90 day warranty - hopefully it will never be an issue. Still a great deal.

IN the same boat. Just receive my camera yesterday and for $60 it's well worth it. I'm not a photographer but I appreciate a good photograph and will enjoy using this on vacations and at sporting events.

Overall it is fairly small, the lcd screen is fairly big, all the buttons are well positioned and easy to access and press. It came with software, ac charger, usb cable, has an hdmi port, came with a lanyard and that is about it.

For the price it's worth it to take a better picture.

Glad you guys had better luck than me on this deal. Yes, only a 90 day warranty although it should be 1 year. Worse, my battery was DOA. When I called to see if I could send it back to be replaced, they said I would have to ship the camera back instead (at my cost). Canon Policy was the stated reason. Seriously?

I see your point but then again your posting of the story over and over is more work than just reusing the box it shipped in and sending the whole camera back. It's not like you could save all that much shipping only the battery because being Li-Ion it needs protected with a couple inches of padding around it in a box. Otherwise if damaged in mail sorting equipment it could start a fire.

make sure you put the battery in the proper direction.... it fits both ways. I had it in backwards at first and thought my battery was busted until i turned it around.
