Not surprising at all, but The Sharper Image has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. "Sharper Image said it had $251.5 million in assets and $199 million in debt as of Jan. 31, according to the filing. Cash on hand totaled about $700,000." - Reuters.

    Good riddance SI.

    Never forget all the complaints back when they first launched
    from the libs about certain products they'd list with something
    that was maybe firearms related or a saucy wench dressed
    provocatively. Of course, they capitulated and 'corrected' the
    product listing(s).

    Herrington as always been my fave;

    The libs were probably complaining about the firearms, but the conservatives complained about women dressing provocative, #21.

    I bought 2 of the Ionic Breeze GPs for my kids. They couldn't stand the smell of the air coming out of it so they constantly turned them off.

    #22, conservatives like to look at nice 'scenery' too. The 'fish people' con's is probably from where SI heard their loudest vitriol, and the Gloria Steinem, Eleanor Shmeal types(libs).

    Over the last year or longer you could win a lot of their stuff cheaper through their ebay auctions.

    i believe its the struggling economy that is affecting all of this, also the fact that their baconnaise is over priced most of the time!

    Perhaps you haven't checked out that cable porn channel called "Fox News" - it's been there for a while. Full of slutty news ho's and they seem overly fascinated with sleezy images and situations. Constant moralizing while continually showcasing the images and situations they claim to be moralizing against.

    It's that kind of repressed bacon pot pie that makes it unsafe to use an airport gravity compost near any Republicans.

    Back on topic: indeed I experienced firsthand a child with asthma nearly dying because we used a product that expelled excessive ozone. One week in the hospital hooked up to a bunch of tubes - asthma attacks aren't pretty. Switched to HEPA filters and haven't had a repeat. In the early days of these Ionic Breezes I had purchased a couple - BOTH eventually failed just after the warranty expired - black goo (the glue they use?) clogged them up from within. For the $300 or so they sold for, they were a complete ripoff.

    I worked there in college. Most of their stuff was crap, and even with my employee discount I didn't want it.

    I did get an ionic breeze for $20...which i will say was worth it. It doesn't do a great job, but for $20 it was worth it.

    Their problem is all the stuff they make is crappy and cheap (but expensive price-wise) and the main-brand stuff is cheaper elsewhere.
