I own this tool and like all of the various brands of occilating tools, they are capable of doing some tasks that no other tool can do as easily, or as well. I am mostly satisfied with this Craftsman version, however, here are a few things you should know. This is the old model, without a quick release for blades. It uses a acorn that you tighten with an allen wrench to secure the blade. Most first gen models did the same. There are complaints of the acorn stripping eventually. Mine hasn't yet. The newer quick release is a VERY nice feature. The second thing to note is that Craftsman uses it's own propritary blades. Other brand blades will NOT fit this tool. Hopefully someone will make an adapter such as the one Ridgid makes for their tool. Sears does put their blades on sale from time to time, but sale, or not, blades from ALL manufacturers are EXPENSIVE. They could give the tool away, and still make a fortune on the sale of blades, and other accessories. Overall battery life depends GREATLY on your application. Under heavy load, I only gett 12 - 15 minutes on a lithium ion 12v. The Craftsman charger is very fast compared to others out there, but if you are really going to use this tool, buy a second battery. It'll make your project a lot less painful. Lastly, keep in mind that the batteries for all brands are proprietary in nature. So, if you are going to buy one, it makes sense to stick with one brand. I have 3 Craftsman "Nextec" tools, so my batteries fit all of them. If I had it to do over, I would not buy Craftsman, not because they are inferior, but because Sears now only warrants them for 1 year, which is ridiculous. Ridgid now gives you a lifetime warranty when you register your power tool with them, and that includes the battery! Yes you pay a bit more, but not much more, and the warranty is worth it's weight in gold, and no one else has it. Other brands have 2 & 3 year warrantys, so shop around.
