"supports studio quality headphones and headsets with up to 600 ohm impedance" wow!!!. Seem like a sweet deal from Sound Blaster even refurbished for $35 shipped.

^ Well, yes/no/maybe. It has an output stage that many lesser sound cards lack to help drive low-z cans, but I would pass on it as something to drive upwards of 600 ohm cans, as well as all computer powered headamps because at that high an impedance you ideally want an amp that has more voltage rail to rail than the 12V max (minus output losses) this is capable of, in order to retain a full volume range.

Generally the headamp crowd considers a 24V (+/- 12V, dual rail) powered amp more optimal for high z cans.

X Newegg customer says why bother? Discount applies in cart but dumps when sent to Paypal. Ever since they left CA for a Kentucky center they suck! Amazing, from #1 to #none.

For $35 bucks, I'm pretty sure my desktop speakers will sound much better than on board as seen demo in Micro Center store. Now if I'm able to afford those big $$$ high end headphone that have huge impedance and after plug it into this, I'm pretty sure I can cough up an additional $100 external headphone amp. Too bad Dave you miss out and it all GONE, SOLD OUT. Laughing

I don't remember getting anything that shipped from KY, seems like it was mostly from TN. Maybe I should look closer at the box label next time.
