This is a really good SSD but only if you've updated it to the latest firmware. The update tool is easy to use and works fine within Windows 7. I have the 512GB version in my notebook (i7 w/8GB) and it boots from power on to ready to use in 22 seconds.
the M4 is a very good SSDs. Don't let the "low" write speeds fool you. There are very few times you actually need to write to a drive, Downloading which will never exceed 10MB/s. Updates, or Installing games ONCE per game, which happen very infrequently and are limited to download speeds again. There is also copying over files, and even then the fastest wireless or wired speeds you'll run into are 128MB/s. There are very few USB3 devices that will even go above 200MB/s so the write speed is plenty. This drive also comes with a transfer kit probably worth another $15 so you are getting the drive for $142. I'd buy if all my systems didn't already have an SSD
I agree this is a good SSD, but the aim should be make faster speeds not go backwards. You may want to upgrade later on and what u consider to be an adequate speedmay not be enough in the near future
