If 20 seconds is "nearly instantaneous", then my Corolla goes from 0 to 60 nearly instantaneously.

The closest you get to "instantaneous" is a Samsung Pro 850. Unfortunately, my experience with Micron drives in Lenovo laptops has not been positive, more issues than the other brands combined.

My Win8 laptop takes over 5 minutes to boot. It's all relative.

Why in the world are you still booting windows except once in a blue moon for important patches? Resume from hibernation takes 20 seconds with a HARD DRIVE, maybe 30 sec. from a 5400RPM laptop drive.

Because I realized that my pc was being used at nights by Russian dudes to hack into other computers. Ever since then I turn them off at night.
