The rubber on these made-in-China slingshots is of poor quality. It disintegrates in less than a year even when it is not used at all, just being exposed to normal room light.

When I was a kid I shot a squirrel in the ass and I am pretty sure the marble was stuck in his ass cause did not see it bounce off and he was walking funny.
I felt bad to say the least...poor squirrel.

the elastic holds up well with use. If it's in the weather it will decompose and snap within a month.

You can get replacement rubber tubing at better stocked mom 'n pop hardware stores, or of course there's official slingshot tubing out there too.

    However it's now $6+.
