    Does anybody know if this XPS is good enough to be used to convert Sony AVCHD movies to DVD or Blu-ray disc?

    #1, my guess is that even a slow machine can do the conversion but it may take several hours.

    No BD-rom, no reading, no ripping. End of story. But $600 for a all in one is a tempting alternative to a 17" laptop.

    this is weaker than most barenines laptops. I wonder about how difficult it is to upgrade this yourself?
