Humm, no Eggviews? Just Egg touting it's got Kickass Award from 3dGameMan.com... please!

Can't find much else on it? I might pass, given these just announced earlier this July and NO reviews like jonnyguru.com or well anybody other than gameboy... and now on already rock-bottom pricing IDK.

Warranty period (labor): 2 years / (part) 3 years... so in actuality only a 2 year.

My take: New product, no reviews, sell a few 100 to get some reviews flowing. How do you sell a few 100, bargain price. Are you game?

Check the reviews of other PSUs by EVGA to make a judgement.

They should sell some prior to providing a few for reviewers? That's not how it works especially in the computer parts world... Doh! I'd like to see EVGA try that philosophy with their graphic cards! They hand out to every tom-carrot-harry $400-600 cards, but can't afford the same on some low-end PSU to get people talking? Then offer huge rebate after like 20 days, that not how it’s normally done in marketing 101.

The reviews on their other units could be from a completely different contract manufactures, the high end offering could be supplied by FSP, SeaSonic, while this could be from a manufacture that build Compucase or Raidmax. You won't know until someone who does quality reviews opens it and checks. While you can learn something from the UL file number, that doesn't always foretell the quality of components. On the label it shows E355174; that belongs to "ETI TECHNOLOGY CORP", I can’t find anything on them, while they may source a sub-components like a PCB from.

I can't say this isn't a decent $25 PSU, but without some info and a good exploratory overview from a reputable reviewer it's just strange and I'd stay away. EVGA states a 3-year warranty, and “Registration is recommended by EVGA, but not required on the following...”

Considering it's active PFC and 80+ bronze it "seems" like it might be worth more than $25, though I suspect that the same as with most budget PSU the fan or caps will fail in 3 years of continuous use. If your system isn't on 24/7 that could mean the lifetime of the system unless heavily loaded for gaming or other tasks.

I suppose the question is what else can you get for $25. I might lean towards a Corsair Builder series 430W (when on sale but it isn't right now) but if the budget can stretch to $40 I'd go with a PC P&C 400W (when on sale which it isn't right now either) though their 500W model is currently $48 after rebate, promo code, and shipping. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817703035
