A 610 this wouldn't be any better than onboard graphics. Spend a little more on your mono and skip this.

While sure just a rename of the GT520, so yes not much for an upgrade; although will still better most stuff that's still on 760G, GeForce 6150, Intel HD2000 graphics (or below) and there's a bunch of that still out there. While yes outlaying more cash for more card is the allure remember, most often that bumps you into a higher TDP class, which might necessitate replacing that low watt PSU... So that's another point to consider. However the real reason folk might look at this is it gives them a DVI output which they might not have, maybe looking to do dual displays, or this case Nvidia CUDA to let you decode using software that take advantage of that. Then there's getting off using regular (shared) system memory. This card 1Gb DDR# mean this might assist you some rather than tossing two 512Mb of old DDR2 sticks to get 2x1Gb and probably more spendy and see even less improvement . The lowly discrete graphics card can have it place even for the most mundane.

Also handy for running triple or quad monitors along with your one or two digital output integrated video. Something like this might be ideal to toss into that $150 refurb'd SFF Dell system we saw a deal on a couple days ago to give it HD acceleration, or a low investment backup video card in case your primary one fails.
