The Nests are sexier but much more expensive. I'm giving this a try at 1/3 the price. Not many reviews and the few there are are mixed!

I've had one of these for a little over a year. Works great! I've had to reset it a couple of times in the last year because it lost contact with my WIFI router, but that could have been the router's fault. I would recommend it, especially for this price.

I have one and once setup it is awesome the android app is great. They really want you to have an apple device to set it up. I was able to set mine up with my laptop but it was a bit difficult. I have called tech support and they are very helpfull and available. You also need to run a c-wire to power the wifi module.

I tried to set it up via a computer, and it was so hard I gave up after probably 15 min ...then just used my iPhone... that took maybe 2 minutes. So I'd set it up that way.
You do have to have a "Power" wire on your AC unit, and some do not have that so be warned. If you don't have it, the WiFi will kill the AA batteries in no time. It is not hard to wire in a 24v power adapter, but not easy for most.
It works well. It does not "learn" like the nest, but who jacks off the thermostat every 20 minutes?
Scheduling is easy to set via the iPhone.
I paid for the PC App, and if you run their app on a PC on the same network, you can enable "circulation mode" so it runs the fan without turning on the AC/Heat, to move air around.
That makes the filters get dirty quicker, but hell it cleans the air right.
The app for the PC will also remember run time on a daily basis. Suck part is they don't have a website that graphs any of that data for you. So you have to export it and understand excel to make some fancy charts if you want....
After 6 months of use, mine has never failed, fallen offline, et al....
