The egg wash and deep frying preparation process of the blooming onion means it is high in calories. In round numbers, a human at rest expends about 2000 calories per day; a single blooming onion with dressing contains approximately 3,000 calories and 116-134 grams of fat, including a combined 44 grams of saturated and trans fat.

You're probably the type of guy who thinks the mayor should tell him how much soda he can drink. If you can sit there and eat whole one of these, I doubt very seriously you're watching what you eat.

Hmm. I'm not at rest, consume more than 3K a day, and haven't gained weight. A generic calorie index for a female may be 2000 calories, but not the average male. Regardless, you generally get one of these to share with other people.

Yes, it's not health food. I think most people get that by now, and those who don't never will. Eat responsibly.

Eat a blooming onion, share is of course, plus your entree + a soda or soda's + a desert, do the calorie math on that one.

The last time i had these, to be honest, it was oily, soggy inside, and it's not even crunchy on the outside, just bad.

^^ True, it's a lot easier to control calories if you just say no to processed sugar... except for eating it on accident, if it was snuck into food it didn't belong in.

Either way, that's still a LOT of calories, lol... and not "good" calories. Razz
