Anybody remember back when "Value Size" meant it was something larger than the rest and you were getting more for your money instead of it being the smallest quantity available?

A co-worker bought one of these during lunch last week. He didn't like the taste. I tried one and agreed. They were warm and crispy... but tasted 'artificial'. I'm guessing this is whatever it takes to make them have less fat, less calories, etc. He sent them back and the lady at the counter said "I don't like them either". There were as good as they were going to be, but that didn't hide the bad "flavor". BTW, we were trying to vote between two alternate names. A> Saddest-flies, or B> Sadist-flies. Anyone else have ideas?

Kinda wish I could still order a lard-fried box of spuds from McDonald's, just to see how much of a difference it made. *drool*.....

^^ Supposedly they use the exact same ingredients, just a change in ratio to the coating/batter so they absorb less oil and salt. Unfortunately, oil and salt are the top two reasons people eat french flies. At least they don't use olestra... which you'd regret later.

I think BK has really fallen down on quality over the past decade or so. Last year I ordered a special "2 chicken sandwiches for the price of 1" deal and though the two sandwiches had different add-ons, both were practically inedible. I fed them to the dogs.
