"FreedomPop currently uses the Clear WiMax 4G " - that alone makes it a deal killer.

Clear's service isn't too bad, when I had them I got decent speeds for it being a wireless thing. Clear as a company though should just kill themselves.

I had support reps outright lie, cheat, and attempt to steal from me. Get anything they promise you in writing and/or recorded, get tracking numbers on anything you send them, and pay for everything with a credit card that is happy to issue chargebacks for you. It goes without saying that you shouldn't sign any kind of contract with them.

I love that their "See if your location qualifies" feature requires you to enter your zip code AND your e-mail address. You can't just check coverage without giving them personal info. Forget it.

^ You can give them a fake email address, but then even if offered in your area they will ask for your address but that is a legitimate request since it's needed to know if there's service there. I guess you could input 1 Main Street if you're feeling adventurous since most zip codes have a Main Street, but then you still have to give them your shipping address to mail it.

Yeah it's too much... next thing you know merchants will even want a credit card #. Wink

Well this is interesting....After giving them a phony email address...
    ...
"FreedomPop does not have coverage at that specific address.

We may have coverage close to you or in areas you travel to. Please check our map for FreedomPop coverage areas here.

If you would still like to sign up for FreedomPop service, you may do so below by clicking "Get Anyway". Otherwise we will notify you when we expand coverage to the address you provided.
    ...
So now you can get your freedom pop anyway if there's no coverage where your live.... I used a zip and address for Riverside, CA and they only cover the downtown area.... really bad coverage.

...from what I know, WiMax and LTE are not the same frequency...and all the WiMAX phones I have owned *will not do* LTE.so I am not sure how it will magically start working, unless you spend magic money on a new usb device....

So, how much is the unlimited plan?
And what's the top Up/Down speed?
