Check out Time Magazine's coverage of FreedomPop. They called FreedomPop "Shady" just back in June.

The article is titled "FreedomPop's Free Wireless Would Be Cool If It Wasn't So Shady" written by Jared Newman published June 5, 2013. Easily Googleable.

Jared's largest concern for consumers in the article referred to above was in regards to an active status or inactivity fee that we once had but have since discontinued. This fee originated from the cost we incurred from our Network Provider's at Clear for keeping dormant accounts (or accounts with less than 5MB usage per month) active. Our CEO, Stephen Stokols did go on the record with the author and announced an end to this fee. An official statement can be found at the tail end of that article, as well as on our blog at http://blog.freedompop.com/we-are-listening/

That's really an oversimplification of the truth of the matter.

Time's larger concern was FreedomPop's "shady" business practices, and the lack of transparency in how your company deals with consumers.

The reality is that your promotional statements don't match your Terms of Service, and numerous consumers and journalists have been surprised with unexpected fees and other "gotcha" moments during the course of the business relationship with the consumer.

For example, even though you promote the message "500 MB Free Internet," that's really only applicable as long as the user agrees to automatic top ups and credit card charges. If the customer won't allow tobaconps, they are cut off after 400MB per month.

FreedomPop's business practices operate in the gray zone, and no matter how many times you quote assurances you quote from your CEO, the company still isn't doing anything but making token changes to assuage the press that you're listening. In fact, do you tell your customers that they can start or upgrade service online, but if they want to downgrade or cancel they have to submit themselves to the mercy of a mandatory phone call to customer service?

Play straight, FreedomPop. Tell the truth, the whole truth.

@Zombie, shoppers looking for this FreedomPop home product are probably be different than shoppers looking for the FreeedomPop mobile products. Why not share the information with both groups?. Not sure why this would be a problem for you, but feel free to ignore my comments if you've already read them in other postings.
