This is the same as F40fd, except that F45fd is a special exclusive for Ritz and few other merchants. F40fd is probably the best 8MP camera you can buy. This is a very good price.

At $105 this camera is a steal. Second only to the F31 this camera has the best Iso 400 and 800 results of any camera in its class. Accepts SD cards which is a huge plus for a fuji camera.

Got a F20. Go to DPreview and read why Fuji F series have the best High ISO performance.

I just bought it last week, very nice.

#4 I'm not sure what you meant by 100%. But with the large sensor, I got less noise for all ISO levels and hence there were very little noise reduction filtering (filters usually smear the details, makes them soft). So it is much better than others in low light condition, but I don't think you would see much difference for outdoor shots though.

#3 I think F20 should be even better than F40 for low light, since it has lower pixel counts on the same size sensor.

Can anybody here explain to me the burp up notation used to describe the size of CCDs/CMOS sensors? 1/1.6" = 0.625" so why not just instead call it 0.625" or 5/8" or 15.9mm? Am I missing something here?

I've had two very bad rebate experiences with Ritz. I had to contact BBB to resolve the matter, and Ritz (coming from the infamous NYC 5th Avenue camera vendor history) was extremely SLOW & RUDE.

I haven't had any rebate issues on the three rebates I've had at Ritz, FWIW.
