Looking into this it is a 1.5 non-raid drive or a 750MB raid, looks like a good unit, but if you want to only use the non-raid 1.5 GB it doesn't look like a great deal. If you want the 750 MB Raid, now that is nice, but I need more than 750 MB. Looking around I found at Amazon a Seagate Expansion 3 TB USB 3.0 Desktop External Hard Drive STBV3000100 for the same price, any comments on the Seagate? I need to get a drive soon. Thanks

Looks like this is an older version. G-Technology's website says this product now come with two Firewire 800 ports and an USB 3.0 port as compared to this model with eSata/USB 2.0/Firewire. All depends on how you want to hook it up.

Reg goes for $99 & I saw it for 89+fs for 2TB. Expansion, not backup drive -- 7200 rpm 64mb cache 140Mb throughput on SATA III. 2yr warranty vs 1 for other externals. Con: run hot -- shim the feet for bottom airflow. Don't yank on connector -- soldered to board? More research needed. I've had mine 6 months no probs.
