    "Final Thoughts
From a regular gamer's perspective, NVIDIA's GeForce GT 220 GPU probably isn't really a video card you would buy. The chances are this is the kind of video card that's sitting inside your work PC, assuming it doesn't use onboard video. Does this make it a bad model, though? No, it's just aimed at a different segment. If you're looking for something that's going to pack a bit more punch than an onboard video solution, this is what you would buy - it's going to be perfect for those older games at those lower resolutions..."

Attention Computer Techs: This video card in not approved by swreynolds because it has a little fan on it...

Might be a deal for those allergic to rebates, but if you're not then you can get better bang for the buck.

GT 610, which is a rebadge of the GT 520, and that was supposedly indicated as a move up from the 220 that started life as an OEM version late in GT200 series final iterations on the 40nm process. Even as GT 520 was Fermi series on 40nm, the 220 had it beat when it comes to memory, textures, and mapping. So working from the Tweaktowns' review probably adds even more of a "shine" on this 610 than it deserves.

So, not for gaming while similarity high power consumption (29W TDP) verses a 6450 makes it a lousy proposition for those looking at it for general computing around the house (or business) as an upgrade for IGP. Being able to support Cuda possess is the only upside, but if that's the concern then pay a little more and get more-done-quicker if Cuda based app's are what you're into.

    I'd look at this XFX 6570 1GB 64-Bit DDR3 that $45 -AR$15 $3.58 Shipping. A good 4 rungs higher performance, but is not a Half Hight card.

^ For general computing instead of gaming it's going to down-volt the GPU and underclock it so it uses very little power, much less than the 29W TDP.

True but a nice 6450 will if you look around cost less, offer slight performance while newer feature set, most often passive cooled, and don't need to do anything but plug-n-play. But as either offer a lot of graphics performance for not very much money if you want to modernize some old on-board or other rudimentary on-CPU graphics either have merit.
