OK, time for an answer: I've been digging for weeks, to no avail and I need to know -- is there some deep, meaningful (if not sinister) connection between this website and Ben's Outlet, or is it purely a coincidence?
Athlon L310 is barely better than dual core Atom while consuming more juice.
Although it is a 64bit CPU and this has 2GB of RAM with a full graphics screen. It only has 4 hour battery life (probably 2.5-3 in real world) which is a bit low for netbook.
I disagree. Four hour battery life for a netbook is quite good. Most times one will have this connected to AC power. This is a mini notebook computer, not a tablet. Expectations that exceed four hours for a netbook unplugged are not realistic.

Got this back when microsoft store had it for $200, great little lappy, using now for this post, get about 4 hrs on the battery, upgradeable to 4GB RAM, everything is easily accessible on the bottom (2 screw on covers for: disk, ram, and network), Win 7 rating is 2.4, no probs with it, had it over 1 yr, 6 cell battery sticks out the back of it (not flush).
Had this (or one very similar to it) for the wife for over a year. It was a fine device for her needs. I think it would benefit greatly on just about every angle to put in a 120GB SSD. This and the Sandisk SSD are a marriage made in heaven.

Why would you want to validate this guy with information you do not know to be true. It lowers your credibility. Please don't damage yourself like that.
1st - Have you or anyone seen or validated the charity info, like a tax return, and here's the big one... a specific name of a charity etc;? Gives half of profit to charity. Really? Why not spend that money on "NOT" ripping off people and build a more honest business?

Ever wonder how these small companies undercut larger ones on price? They carry limited stock bought in volumes, and they cut overhead on things like advertising and customer support. It's generally understood by savvy internet shoppers that the smaller the outfit the more this is true.

One article about a Jewish person helping "fund" a Jewish organization project does not make: "Gives more than half of profit to charity. And I don't know that JEM is a charity, Do you.
Of all the internet content stating giving to charity, not one states a charity by name and so far neither have you.

They don't (reportedly) give away half their profit at the sake of customer service. Do some homework and you will find that good customer service is a key aspect in company growth and surveys prove this to be up ther with price.
The companies you speak of are like you said - "small outfits" - where they don't have a choice but to cut overhead.
Seriously, think about it. A company would give away millions when they could spend a minute amount of that on a phone number a few staff and build a positive reputation that will net more revenue than the cost of the support.
Deal a day marketing is a numbers game with acceptable losses. It's just kinda crappy that most the losses can be prevented and greed and deception prevails.
Something to ponder. Why not provide the support.
If you are selling something as new when it is not or you say 3 day shipping and it comes in 2-3 weeks or you don't get it at all...
Then...
All support can do is blow smoke... So why waste the money.. Huh?
