judging by the user images on amazon, this thing breaks extremely easily. buyer beware.

Which is better, the Furi Crocodile Knife or the Gerber Gator Machete?

I'm partial to the Bear Grylls models... They come with a handy fold up Priorities of Survival pocket guide to refer to in case you've found yourself in a spot of trouble.

    For instance, Urine Tip #2:

"An improvised hat or head scarf can provide shade an keep the body cool if made wet. (Think urine or any fluids you can find --- remember: survival is rarely pretty!)"

Either it's softer steel or it is harder (brittler) and more likely to break instead of bend, but it can't be both!

Either way, if a *good* 8" kitchen knife costs north of $80, what makes you think you can get a good 25" machete for under $80? This price class is for the weekend warrior who lives in the city, not for everyday use.

Finally #6, someone who doesn't crap their Underoos at the thought of a $80+ kitchen knife.

    A Gerber machete?!?! Really!

I guess if your your kid don't want to eat their strained broccoli, you can always threaten them with this Gerber machete. Then they'll slurp that green crap right up. LOL.

It's not the size that matters it's how you swing it.

Admittedly, this thing is slightly stronger than my papier machete.
