The Gladiator Gearbox series is nicely built stuff, I have a number of them in my garage. They can be mounted directly on studs or using their white mounting strips.
Be aware that they all use the same round locking key. When I called them and asked why they said it was just to keep kids out and not really to be used as a secure locking mechanism.
