If I could've possibly found a use for it, I'd buy two of them.

It makes a perfect porch light switch. I installed one at a friend's house last year and it's been working flawlessly.

Would've been nice but I suspect the name Honeywell adds $10 or more to the price as you can get the outlet plug-in type for around $20 from generic brands.

I could've use this to turn on night light automatically, or just use one that does so when it gets dark....

I have 3 of these and have had them for years. They were very easy to install and are really excellent.

I prefer motion sensors, which also have an ambient light sensor so they don't have to come on during the day. Why light the porch if nobody's there?

Motion sensors don't work in every situation... I want my porch light on at night for security reasons. I have an older model of this and have been very happy. This one automatically adjusts for daylight savings; just set it and forget it. I helped a neighbor install this model and she's been happy with it.

My favorite feature on this is the sunrise/sunset setting. I installed one for my porch lights a couple years ago and it turns my lights on at sunset and off at sunrise. There's no need for a light sensor so it can be used indoors or outdoors, and a rechargeable battery keeps the settings safe during power outages. It's miles above some cheap outlet plug. I picked up one for $30 on Cyber Monday during an Amazon "lightning deal" and wish I could have ordered more.
