I just built a new system with one of these chips. 3 heatsinks later, the system is finally quiet and reasonably cool. I ended up with a $60 Noctua with a 120mm fan to cool it. Cheaper options were not cutting it at maximum load for more than a minute or two.
Intel doesn't include heatsinks with the (unlocked) K chips. So, add that onto the price-tag.
MicroCenter has some good sales. No store here though.
great price almost bought one until i realized that the new 270 chip set has the upcoming intel optane storage technology, however if you don't have a kaby lake processor it will not work. I really wanted to update and get this processor, but to limit the upcoming technology will force me to purchase a newer processor later.

This cpu you need oversized cpu cooler or water cooling.
The AMD Zen is out March 2nd.
Goodbye Intel.
For a mere 91W CPU? I could see it if you feel the stock cooler is too loud or it's summer but no air conditioning.
Fortunately heatpipe 'sinks are pretty cheap these days, you can usually get something that handles up to 200W or more, for $20 or less.

Keep throwing cash prizes at OEMs and shills.

No no man.
The new i7 lga 1151 are having issues and Intel isn't talking about it.
My 125w tdp Cpus were working great and not thermal throttling.
These i7s can't even use a stock cooler or integrated graphics.
If you use both you need oversized cooler or Watercooling.
When I run furmark, you fan see fps high then lowers very fast.
I ran it on Medium sized cooler Master and it still was on hot side with a dedicated gpu.
I've sold two of these in rigs and almost returned the first one. I was super pissed.
What I'd tell Intel fans right now.
Use lga 2011 Cpus only.
Or lga 1150 i7 4790k/70k
Or don't go Intel.
Go ryzen
Thank you!
