Update #4 [11/21]: We are aware there are still issues with IE8 and are working hard to correct it.

Update #3 [11/19]: The issue with the scroll bar locking up was isolated to Internet Explorer 8. Please let us know if you continue to experience this issue and also leave the browser version you are using in the comments or via email. Thanks!

Update #2 [11/11]: We hear your comments re: the category list. For now, you can also use the top nav bar dropdown menu or the page filter to search categories. We'll continue to make adjustments based on your feedback to provide the best user experience.

Update [11/10]: Thank you for the feedback so far! To address a couple comments:
  • You can filter by "Hotness" using the "Sort By" drop-down menu just above the newest deal at the top of the homepage.
  • A lot of changes have been made behind the curtain to help the site load faster. We know that has been an issue in the past, and we will continue to monitor it.

Just looked at it in the preview link.

Too bloated, will take me additional clicks to go where I want to go.

Hope like us enough so you keep the old version available, Ben's Bargains Lite?, for those who prefer it.

      Make it better, not worse!

I liked BB better when we were all making fun of toddsucks and testing the limits of the filter.

There are never any good comments on BB anymore.

Correct me if wrong, but I think "repped" is the Mandarin word for Canadian bacon.

      Site looks good.

Maybe its me, but for the past couple weeks its been loading kinda slowly. This new slickness should help.

Nice additions but if they come at the expense of more time loading Ben's Home Page I'd much rather do without them. If we can't quickly access the home page, read a discussion then back to the home page then Ben will get less traffic and clicks due to our frustration. The home page LOOKS nicer since the changes a year or so ago but browsing Ben's site used to be faster and therefore in my opinion more enjoyable two years ago.

Hope I don't seem too negative...I do enjoy Ben's site and have learned a lot here over the years from various users such as davec, compwiz, casecutter along with many others.

Can we have a filter for the 'hotness' meter?

Really have no use for "deals you might have missed" - who cares?

In the old layout, if I wanted to view all deals in a category, I simply had to scroll and click. Now, it's scroll, click, scroll, click

Don't have a horizontal scroll bar when the page is reduced from full size. Please update that. Thanks

Site loading time is an issue. Now it is taking longer to load.

Wasn't broke, so don't fix it. Don't care about what I might have missed. Takes more clicks to see what I want to see. If you must make improvements, make your site load faster.

Not tooooo bad. At least all the clutter is now on the right side only which helps when you want to print the page. Ben could use the onbeforeprint and onafterprint to hide the right side division from printing at all if he wanted to program it that way. That would be nice.

Still wish you would put a slight time delay in the main drop down menus so they dont pop open every time I move my mouse over them, on my way to something else at the top of the page. Just delay a little will make this go away. When i want the menu drop down they appear like magic a few milliseconds later.

Horrible. Takes forever to load. Takes up 60% of CPU. Scroll has 3 second delay.

I don't like it as well with the "deals you missed" taking up real estate on the left. I have no use for that section.

Absolutely, the space used for "deals you missed" isn't what I want or others. I think we'd rather have the "Categories" all listed right there in say two columns. If you quickly want to know Deals on say... HDD, Monitors, or Apparel a newbie's and us can quickly get to such listings.

I'd say cut some of the categories from being "up full time" maybe create a "Seasonal Box or like the Anounncment area" for things like right now; "Black Friday & Cyber Monday" are up and forefront. When it’s "Back to School", "Halloween", "Easter"... such categories/deals are shown there.

Another thing what’s the deal with all the wasted space at the top?
There's the logo at the left and then a huge gaping white nothing? The current page is so much more smartly tailored as I like to leave the browser window cut down a little here at work to see incoming email at the top of the screen. I’d like to see the menu/search bar trimmed in like half and in the center, then on the right the announcement box (or something like the Seasonal Deals) to balance the logo.

Scroll is still horrible. Click down or scroll wheel down and it takes 4 or 5 seconds to move.

      Almost unusable.

Worse than yesterday if that is possible.

Post the sales tax info for your merchant affiliates.

For people who live in a place like NY, sales tax is often a dealbreaker for big items. Amazon understands the importance of this. Huge advantage for them over sprawlmart in places like CA (for now).

You might have noticed, other deal sites post sales tax info.

It still takes 3>6 seconds after a click on the scroll bar for the page to scroll down. Is anyone else experiencing this? No other site has this problem for me.

      It is basically unusable.

I'm going to miss my daily visits to bengargains

Let me know if it gets fixed please

      Thanx

      Pete
