i bought the iogear GFR204SD a few months ago for $6 after coupon + free shipping, which works and whose form factor (stick, no dongle) i prefer over this GFR209A, but i still bought this because for the price i'm willing to overlook that it's unnecessarily larger (because i don't need memory stick; another limited sony proprietary standard).
my preference is for sd readers that enclose a single sd card with a cap on both ends to protect the inserted card and the usb plug, but those are harder to find and get for $1 from china (either they're more expensive than $1 or they never arrive).
