Wow, I bought a powered version of this at Macy's for $80 a number of years back. It did a good job of sharpening, but it was noisy and took a lot of time. It's on a shelf somewhere now. I now use an Accusharp.
Oh, shipping is free for Primates.

That Accusharp any good? I bought one of these Edgeware sharpeners the last time they were on sale and I gotta say I'm pretty disappointed. Have tried multiple knives in this thing and it just does not produce a fine sharp blade.

You have to draw the blade just right, or nothing happens.
    Just to be sure,

I bought a cheap knife sharpener at Harbor Freight tools and it been great. Like Swreynolds said....draw the blade angle just right or it will make it worst.

You can't beat a good stone, oil, and technique. Tried many criss-cross ceramic rod sharpeners like this and they are ok for truing up a blade in good condition but sharpening a dull blade not so much.. Not much better than a sharpening steel, which contrary to the name trues the blade, not sharpens it.
