Can anyone recommend the cheapest way to get a plan with quality cell coverage that can be applied to most unlocked phones. I make very few calls and use Google Voice with hangouts for all my calling. I only need less than 500mb per month of data to cover my data needs. I've been using Freedompop but the clarity of the calls is poor.
^ Tracfone has a Bring Your Own Phone (BYOP) program. Not sure how comprehensive that is today, if the "most unlocked phones" stipulation applies but you could research whether anyone is using their service with any particular phone.
While that is very inexpensive, it doesn't get you remotely close to 500MB/mo. data. They do have data refill cards but you'd have to do the math to figure out your total addt'l cost based on data usage.
I would assume most tracfone users keep mobile data turned off until they really need it and rely on wifi most of the time.
