The trick is that they get you locked into using their .docx format that's incompatible with every other office program and then they start charging for continued access to your own documents.
Microsoft is the rich NON-Cool kid down the street that always tries to do what the cool kids are doing. He is never really cool and always tries to be, just a little too late. iPods were cool, so they made a Zune, iTunes was cool so they made the Zune Music store, the iPhone is cool so we will buy a phone company, Google search is cool so we will do a search engine, Google Maps are cool so we will make one too, Web mail is cool so we will buy HotMail, Virtualization is cool so we will buy Connectix for the Virtual PC software, Tablets are cool so they make the surface, web browsers are cool so they make a web browser. In the end they copy everyone and when they don't the **** is not cool, i.e. the Big *** Table the Microsoft Surface, google it on youtube. More proof MS is a dead end. Lots of cash but a dead end.
It's weird how you can't check how much storage you are using on Hotmail.com... i mean Outlook.com, no... Skydrive.com.... i mean Onedrive.com
I can see "Storage 29.99 of 30 GB available" so I can just do the math.
I don't know how you are checking that math genius. Google, Bing - how to check the available storage left in skydrive and it will tell you that you cannot.

You can analyze any company with this type of comparison. Google more so than most, in my own opinion.
Before, when I used to be pro Apple, I used to say "If Apple invented the girl, shortly after google would create the hooker"
Now I have no allegiance to any big company, nor do I despise any big company to where I refuse to buy anything fromt hem because of their name.

Wouldn't that be redundant?
I have nothing to worry about it.

(PS: There is an option to save files in Open Office formats by default...)
